#MomLifeInc Book Review
I am a mom that wants to make money but doesn’t want to be away from her children. I realize there will come a time when they are in school all day but even then I see myself working from my home office. When I tried working out of the home for a while after I had my first child, I would come home after a short 4-hour shift feeling like I was missing everything in her life. Of course, I was being dramatic but I decided to find a way to stay home.
It took a while but I found blogging. I love that this is what I get to do every day, but it is also a huge undertaking. Just like any other job if you want your blog to pay like a business, you have to treat it like a business. Because of this, I’m always looking for a little inspiration. I’ve read a few books like You are a Badass by Jen Sincero and Get over your Damn self by Romi Neustadt and now I’m adding #MomLifeInc by Leah Cupps to the list.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I love the authors’ story, it gives me hope that I will be able to make my dream of a profitable home business come true. There are parts of her story that I can really relate to (like only having a few hours a day to work.) She takes a no-nonsense approach to building a business that I really like.
There were so many great tips for completing your ever-growing to-do list faster, which I seriously appreciated. Getting everything done sometimes feels impossible, but she makes it all seem manageable, and a balanced home/work life attainable.
Now that I have finished reading the book I’m going back and giving the Chapter Challenges a real try. I’m curious to see if my future goals are met using her tips.
The Chapter Challenges
At the end of each chapter (or lesson,) she gives you tasks to do. These tasks are designed to help you achieve success for all of the lessons she is trying to teach. This is my favorite part about the book. I absolutely loved writing out my vision for the future, ( I was smiling ear to ear the entire time.) That has to be a good sign.
What I didn’t like
Honestly, not much. The only thing that bothered me was that I thought the book would be a little bigger. But that isn’t really the author’s fault and has nothing to do with the content inside. It only took about an hour or so to finish, which also isn’t a bad thing since I am a busy mom with limited time.
If you are interested in starting a business or taking your existing business to the next level in less time, this book is definitely for you. It was quick and to the point (which I loved) and so full of useful information. I can see myself coming back to this book for reference in the future! The challenges the author included with each chapter are a genius idea, it made it feel more like a lesson than just a book to set back and read.
I recommend buying the print version of the book so you can easily do the challenges and make notes. If you do pick up a copy let me know what you thought in the comments below.
Thanks for reading!
