Lemome Bullet Journal Review

UPDATE: 9/16/17

Now that I have been using the Lemome journal for a few months so I wanted to give a quick update on it. I am happy to say that I am still totally in love with it and use it every day. It has held up very good to everyday use, the bindings are still strong and nothing had broken or started to fall apart. I will say that because I got the pink cover I am starting to notice it getting a little dirty, but nothing that I didn’t expect with such a light color. Next time I will probably go for the black, but other than that I am still 100% happy with my purchase.

Lemome Bullet Journal Review
As soon as I saw someone talking about a Bullet Journal I knew I needed one. When I was in high school they gave us these academic planners that were very boring, so I covered the entire thing in Post-it notes and stickers to give it a little “character” and make it look pretty. I feel like the Bullet Journal has the same idea, but they start with a blank notebook so that you have full creative control.

There is a bullet Journal you can buy from Amazon called Leuchtturm 1917, and when I went looking for a Bullet Journal that is the first one I looked at because it seems like that is what everyone was using. But, I am very money conscious so the thought of spending $20 on something that I wasn’t sure I was going to love wasn’t all that appealing to me. So instead I opted for a smaller cheaper version of the Bullet Journal which turned out to be a perfect trial run for my new obsession.
As it turns out I’m very glad I did have a practice journal and I would recommend if you are just starting out that you may want to consider doing what I did and buying something smaller and a little less overwhelming. Especially if you are a perfectionist, like myself.
Because I bought a smaller one to begin with it only took me about 5 months to fill up, it also gave me those five months to practice my weekly layouts and find a system that worked for me. The best thing about the Bullet Journal is that it isn’t a one-size-fits-all. You make it your own, if you want it really artsy, you can. If you want it to be straightforward, you can. If you want a combination of the two, you can. It is so freeing to not be boxed in by the normal yearly planners.

The journal I ended up choosing this time is by a brand called Lemome, I picked this journal for three reasons. 1. Because this one had reviews saying it was just as good as Leuchtturm but the pages were a little thicker. 2. Because it was pink. 3. Because it was just a little cheaper and came with extras like stickers a ruler and a pen. I have never used Leuchtturm before so I can’t speak about it as if I have, but I can say that I am 100% happy with the one I picked and when I need a new bullet Journal in the future I will definitely be purchasing another Lemome. I love the color scheme, I love the pen that came with it, and I love the pages in the front of the journal that offers a little guidance for journaling if you aren’t sure where to start.

If you aren’t sure what a bullet Journal is, I’ll try to explain it the best that I can. Basically, every page of the journal is numbered so when you make- for instance- a monthly layout on page 10, then you would go back to the beginning of the journal where there is an index to keep track of everything and add “monthly layout” on page 10. Then every time you add a new page you just add it to your index and nothing ever gets lost. Having the index also means that you don’t have to go in order, you don’t need to keep all of January pages together. You can have the January monthly calendar on page 3 then the weekly layout on page 12 and your New Year’s resolutions on page 40, even though they are not altogether you know exactly where to find them because they are in your index.
I love the system so much, I love having the freedom to make each page exactly how I want it, if on one particular day you not feeling great and just need a place to lay your words to get them off your chest you can take a page to do that and not mess up the flow of the journal, because the flow is your own.

I am a stay-at-home mom of two small children and there are a lot of things that I need to keep track of in order to run my house properly without losing my mind. I also like that I can keep new blog ideas, blog posts themselves, and content schedules in the same book as my grocery list and to-do list. For me, the Bullet Journal is an amazing tool to organize your life in a way that is creative and fun. I use my Bullet Journal more than I ever used a traditional yearly planner for the simple fact that I like it and it’s fun so I am reaching for it a lot more.

  1. Thanks for you product review. I and a friend are currently trying to decide which brand we want to get for ourselves for the New Year. Yours is the only review I have seen so far for the Lemome product.
The three available from the local site we are hoping to buy from are Lemome, Scribbles That Matter and Leuchtturm 1917.

I agree with starting with a smaller book as it is was a good way to get a feel for what worked best for me.
