I recently purchased the original bareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I have been so impressed by this light-weight natural foundation that I wanted to give a review of it. But before I give my opinion on the product I’ll tell you the details.
It claims to be full, medium, or sheer coverage. It also says that it is made for all skin types and comes in 30 shades. The product details also state that it is paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free, claiming “Free of binders, fillers, silicone, and synthetic chemicals, this lightweight formula promotes clearer, healthier-looking skin.”
I was already looking for something lightweight that didn’t disturb my skin because I have been having pretty frequent breakouts and wanted something gentle, so it sounded perfect to me. Of course, I have seen the infomercials for this product for years, but once I swatched it in the store I was convinced I needed to try it.
I fell in love with this foundation almost instantly. It was so easy to blend and doesn’t have a weird smell, (that is one this I can not handle in my foundation.) The coverage was good with a light hand and also very buildable. Also, it didn’t stick to my concealer or around the edges of my nose. Plus, it lasts all day (up to 8 hours.)
I absolutely love the finish. The claim of bareMinerals Original Foundation is that the product gives a radiant finish, and it is completely true. My skin looks so dewy and healthy. If you don t like a dewy finish, or if you have oily skin you may not like this foundation, (although the website does say for normal, dry, combination and oily skin.) But dewy is what I want, and dewy is what I get. When you swatch the foundation you can see there is a little shimmer to it, not glitter but just a subtle shimmer that looks very natural when buffed into the skin with a brush.
All in all, it is a great foundation. I have been wearing it regularly for the past month and have yet to find something I don’t like about it. I didn’t know if I would like it or not, the last powder foundation I used wasn’t very impressive, but the bareMinerals original foundation has been a very pleasant surprise and I would highly recommend.
