Review: Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation

Makeup Monday Logo

With the start of the New Year, I’ve decided to make a few changes around here. So today I’m sharing my first ever Makeup Monday with a review of the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation! I will be sharing beauty related posts every Monday from now on. It won’t always be a review, but it will always have something to do with makeup, beauty, skincare etc.

Makeup is something I have always loved. It may seem silly to some people, but if you’re a makeup lover I think you get it. There is just something so therapeutic about putting on a full face of makeup. As a stay at home mom, I don’t get the chance to wear it as often as I would like. But that doesn’t stop me from spending my money on beauty and skincare (:

As much as a love the full face look, I rarely have time for all that with two kids. Most of the time I end up running out the door with a quick layer of foundation, a little concealer, and some mascara. So something quick, easy to apply, and mess free is what I’m looking for when I’m buying a new foundation.

For some reason, I’m drawn to powder foundation. I love the finish you can get from a powder foundation and I feel like I don’t have to use as much of the product when I’m using powder versus liquid. And this Foundation did the job. It gave me full coverage and didn’t set any five lines are wrinkles I am starting to get.

Another reason I really love powder foundations is that they don’t seem to have a strong of a smell. My least favorite part of the liquid foundation is that they all smell (not always bad.) But just the fact that I’m putting something that smells so strongly on my face, it makes me happy when I find a foundation like this that has no smell- or none that I can tell-.

Tarte claims that this is a full coverage foundation and I would agree that. You can build it up enough to be a full coverage Foundation. I normally don’t go for full coverage, usually just at a light layer over the skin after I put on concealer. But I can totally see how you could build this foundation up if that’s what you’re going for.

The finish this foundation gives is matte. There is no glitter or shimmer and it doesn’t leave your skin dewy at all, but then it doesn’t claim to either.) While I usually go for a dewy finish for my foundation, I usually tend to go a little matte during the colder months of the year. Also, this foundation has a brush that you can get that is designed with this foundation in mind. But I just used a powder brush I had on hand and it worked just fine.

The small round container it comes in is sturdy and durable. And the way the product comes out of the package is like something I haven’t seen before. There is a little piece of fabric that looks like a piece of mesh and you just press your brush down in to get the product out. Then you swirl your brush into the cap to remove excess product. At this point, you’re ready to apply it to your face.
I found the application process extremely easy. Like most powder foundations this was very seamless and even across the entire face and neck area.

Overall I absolutely love this Foundation.

The packaging is simple and easy to use the formula is amazing and great for both light and full coverage. The smell or the fact that there is not a smell is a major plus for me. And as far as high-end foundations go this is on the lower end of the price scale.

Have you ever tried this foundation? If you have (or know another good powder I should try) please leave me a message in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
