The Neutrogena Mask Collection

(Disclaimer) I was provided with a free product for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

Who doesn’t love a good face mask? I’m so excited that Neutrogena sent me a few of their new Hydrogel Masks to try out! They even sent along a single-use clay mask shot! But I hope it goes without saying that I will give only my honest opinion no matter how I got the product.

I want to start by talking about the Deep Clean Purifying Wash-off Clay Mask since I only have one of these.

The first thing I thought was “this container looks like a garlic butter container from Papa John’s (if you don’t know what I’m talking about we can’t be friends.) But don’t let that fool you! I love this single-use packaging idea! While I enjoy having a big container of something that I love, it also makes me feel like I have a time limit to use it once it’s been opened (and you pretty much do.)  But these little containers are great! I took mine into the shower with me and it was just very convenient. The smell is pleasant, not too strong but it does have a scent to it. The texture was smooth and applied to the skin nicely. Once I was ready to wash it off it left my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I was a little red where I’d applied the mask but that isn’t usual for my skin at all and didn’t last very long.

Next, I tried the Deep Clean Purifying 100% Hydrogel Mask.

Deep Clean Purifying 100% Hydrogel Mask

These gel masks are made with seaweed extract to refresh skin and a polymer derived from seaweed to form the translucent gel mask! As soon as I took this out of the package I was intrigued!  It was so slimy and felt like it was just packed full of liquid. The mask comes in two parts, forehead/nose/cheek, and jaw/upper lip/chin. This made it the fit seem perfect, and was super easy to apply. After about 20 minutes I took it off and noticed the pores on both my chin and nose looked better. (Keep in mind I used the clay mask in the shower and then applied the Hydrogel straight out of the shower. So it was like double the power!) Also, I’m sure it says somewhere not to use both masks one after another but I was excited and thought the gel would help hydrate my skin after I used the clay mask. Which I totally think it did!

The last product I got to try was the Radiance Boost Brightening 100% Hydrogel Mask.

Radiance Boost Brightening 100% Hydrogel Mask

This mask smelled so good!! A little sweeter than the purifying mask and I really enjoyed it. Because this mask is a brightening mask I thought it would be nice to use before makeup. So that’s exactly what I did. I’ll be honest, it was a little weird using a mask so early in the day (I usually only use masks after the kids are in bed.) But it was nice. I let it set on my skin for about 20 minutes or so and had a cup of coffee. Then washed it off and used the liquid left in the pouch as a moisturizer. And it was a very nice base for my makeup! I love a nice dewy finish and using the mask this way added a glow to the skin that even a little foundation didn’t cover up.

Overall

I’m very happy with all of these products. My favorite was the Radiance boost mask! I loved the way my skin looked so healthy and bright. I always seem to gravitate towards brightening products and this was no exception. This line also has a Hyrdo Boost Hydrating Mask and a Hydro Boost Hydrating Overnight Gel that I will absolutely be picking up the first time I see it at the store. The gel masks were both very hydrating so I can only imagine the level of hydration you could get from a mask made specifically for that (or an overnight gel for that matter.)

Have you ever tried a gel mask before? Did you have as much fun as I did? Let me know in the comments below(:

Thanks for reading!
